3M™ VHB™ 5915 tape is a 0.015-inch (0.4 mm) thick black double-sided acrylic foam tape with PE release liner.

Product Description:

3M™ VHB™ 5915 tape features a modified acrylic adhesive that provides good adhesion to a variety of high, medium, and medium/low surface energy substrates, including metals, glass, various series of plastics, and coatings, including a variety of powder coatings. The foam’s conformability is excellent, allowing for good adhesion between substrates even with slight mismatches.

Eliminates drilling, grinding, patching, tightening, welding, and cleaning operations.

Forms a permanent waterproof and moisture-proof sealing structure.

The pressure-sensitive adhesive system’s high initial adhesion ensures rapid achievement of operational strength.

Can be applied to thin materials and bonding of different types of materials.

Operation/Application Information:

Before bonding 3M™ VHB™ tape, most substrates should be cleaned with a mixture of IPA*/water 70/30. Additional surface treatments may be required for heavy oils, worn surfaces, adhesion promoters, porous surfaces, and unique materials.

Typical Performance Characteristics:

90° Peel Strength: 21 N/cm on stainless steel substrate.

Shear Strength: 620 kPa on stainless steel substrate.

Tensile Strength: 550 kPa on aluminum substrate.
